I was supposed to publish this on Thursday, obviously I didn’t, but I haven’t changed any of the text, so let’s go back in time!
Truly what a day! I got up early in the morning and rushed to the Apple store and got my Macbook Air, oh what a beauty. I really can’t say enough about it, it’s fucking awesome. Of course the Apple store is a funny place, every “Genius” treats you like an illiterate, so you just nod and go “wow, really?” and all that, then boom, give them some smack talk about OSX and have them shut up. I know they’re just doing their job, but meh.
I rushed home, dropped off the laptop, took my bike and went with Dylan (soon to be roommate) to go sign the lease to our new place. 40c and humidity do not favour those that bike. I probably lost 2 pounds through sweating alone. The AC at the realtors place was a Godsend. Anyways, after that I headed back home, showered and went to my dentist appointment.
That’s where I met Khadija! She’s the new dental hygienist. Born and raised in Saudi, she’s now here talking to me while shoving powerful water guns in my mouth. Three years of dental hygiene in that office and I’ve never enjoyed it as much as today. Funny considering you can barely talk with all that cleaning happening in your mouth. Anyfoo, it’s awesome to be able to enjoy such a mundane necessity, so hopefully she’ll be there in November when I visit again.
After the dentist, it was all MacBook Air & Lion time, till finally around night I decided to read a bit and finished Beautiful Losers – Leonard Cohen. I’m only just starting to get into fiction, not that keen on it yet, but that book was great. Three days ago I finished The Unbearable Lightness of Being – Milan Kundera. I loved the book, I’d say it’s even better than Cohen’s perhaps. Then again I’m very easily attracted to books with elements of philosophy.
